Glass wine bottles are the most common type of modern wine packaging, so how are glass wine bottles made? As a glass bottle manufacturer, let me take you to understand it in detail. The manufacturing process of glass wine bottles mainly includes the steps of raw material preparation, melting, molding, bottle mouth processing, inspection and packaging.
The main raw materials of glass wine bottles are quartz sand, sodium carbonate, limestone and other additives. These raw materials need to be screened, mixed and crushed for use in subsequent processes. The purity and quality of raw materials directly affect the quality and cost of glass wine bottles. Next comes melting. The raw materials are put into a high temperature kiln for melting. Usually natural gas or electricity is used as fuel, and the temperature of the furnace is raised to about 1500°C to melt the raw materials into molten glass. During the melting process, pigments and other additives can also be added to give glass wine bottles different colors, transparency and physical properties. Then there's shaping. The molten glass is sucked into the forming mold for molding. The formed glass bottle needs to be cooled to prevent the bottle from deforming or bursting. After the bottle mouth is determined, the bottle mouth needs to be processed, such as edging, strengthening, coating and other treatments. These treatments can improve the strength and sealing performance of the bottle mouth. Next comes an inspection of the bottles to ensure they meet quality standards. Finally the glass bottles are packed into boxes for shipping and sale.
